Alright!
Well seeing as I neglected to do this for CCEE this year, I should probably actually write a small journal for Otafest

This last weekend was Otafest, which is my local con. For me it's a very big deal. It was my first con and it holds a very special place in my heart. Every year I look forward to my brocon and being able to see local cosplayers, who I don't get to see very often. It's also a great chance to just chill and hang out.
This year I brought out a few old costumes and at the last minute threw together a new one, which was very exciting!!
Friday I pulled together my Annabeth Chase from Percy Jackson and the Olympians cosplay and wore that out for the first time with ~
Kyouheikutie as my Rachel Elizabeth Dare. It was a great afternoon of derp and looking for my lost Percy. (He's been missing since around the winter solstice. I got a vision from Hera recently. She told me to go look for a guy with one shoe....). I had tons of fun and it was a great first run in the costume. It was incredibly comfortable and I can't wait to take it out for some photos!

We also attended a panel hosted by ~
Nani-Mizu and a few of her friends who were all in Borderlands Cosplay. I'm not super familiar with the game, but I do know the costumes looked AMAZING!!! The panel was a battle contest of sorts that kinda works along side battle chess. It was more a debate than anything else. Two cosplayers would go head to head and debate back and forth why their character was the best _________. All the while staying in character. It was actually pretty great, especially since both ~
Merytmut and ~
Clairice-Sarah participated as Marik and Bakura and ~
Hoveringkoi and *
DepthCharge7 participated as Reno and Cloud. There was a lot of mind control and Steve jokes going around. Someone even tried to call Cloud a girl. That went over well. In the end it came to a battle between Marik and Cloud. Oh the lolz. I still die of laughter every time I think about it!
After the con a few of us went and saw Star Trek: Into Darkness and it was pretty much the most feelsy amazing thing like ever. GO SEE IT! (is my mind control working?)
Saturday I spent most of the day wearing my Lloyd Irving Cosplay with a big Tales of Symphonia group. We had all the playable characters except Genis which was pretty awesome! We got a chance to have a photoshoot with ~
Kyouheikutie which was lots of fun, especially since she's never played the game before and we had to give her a crash course in ToS. In the end, the abridge version of the characters came down to: "Douchbag that helped create that thing, horny skittle, darth vader and luke, God Castiel, Ninja Whore." have fun figuring who was who XD.

After a video shoot, my costume had pretty much had it. The wig just wasn't working anymore so I switched into my Burst into a Blaze Ruki costume <3 God I love that costume!
I wore it around for a few hours and ninja'd through the con with *
DepthCharge7 who had switched out of Kratos into Cloud again.

We ended up heading home early because a few people weren't feeling great from the lack of sleep and food. We went and got some food and then headed home and watched a few episodes of Reboot. Which actually ended up with me curled up in a ball at the foot of my bed completely passed out until DC had to kill a spider.
Sunday was the busiest day for me. I wore, for the second time, my Adult Link costume. I am in love with that costume. I'd like to remake the tunic some time, but other than that, I'm so happy with it. It's so comfyyyy~ I was joined by *
DepthCharge7, ~
Merytmut, ~
Nani-Mizu, and ~
Clairice-Sarah who were Dark Link, Princess Zelda, Dark World/Bunny Link, and Young Link for a photo shoot with
SeyeCO Images . After that, :devClairice-Sarah switched out of young link due to some costume malfunctions and the rest of us adventured onwards. We ended up getting photoshoots with a bunch of other photographers through out the rest of the day, and by the time 8 PM rolled around and the con was over we'd barely had time to actually con

It was AWESOMEEEE~

I had so much fun. I love Otafest. It's pretty much the most amazing con ever <3 I'm so happy I got to go this year!
For me, this marks the beginning of my summer vacation and also a few month gap before Animethon in Edmonton in August, which I will be attending with a few other members of DCS. As of right now my cosplay list is: Toothiana, Rukia, and Naruto.

Between now and then, I'm hoping to do a few photo shoots with come other costumes like L, Tohru Honda, Annabeth Chase, and Gokudera.
I'll keep you guys posted with my progress over the summer!
